Space for You — Body-oriented psychotherapy in Nijmegen

We look at what you are struggling with and what might change there.

Welcome

Sometimes it helps to look at what is going on together with someone.

I like working with people on things that truly matter. I am curious about what is going on, even when it is difficult or painful.

I work as a body-oriented therapist, with attention to what happens in the body and in the contact. I work in a calm and involved way. It is important to me that people follow their own path.

Together we look at what you are struggling with and what might change there. We work through conversation and with attention to the body, for example by noticing what you feel in your body or by expressing emotions.

About me

I am Kim van Hees, 48 years old, and I work as a body-oriented therapist in training (Core Energetics).

I am calm and involved. I work gently where possible, and I am honest when needed.

I have been dancing tango for more than twenty years. There I have learned a lot about contact, attunement and trust. In movement, it often becomes visible what is going on, even before there are words.

Before this, I worked for many years in the asylum-seeker field, where I supported people in difficult and uncertain situations. Later I worked as an advisor at the Ministry of Justice and Security. These experiences have given me a solid base: I am grounded, to the point and used to bringing clarity, even in complex situations.

I do this work because it suits me and because I can mean something for people.

How I work

In the first session we take time to hear what is going on in your life and what you are struggling with. We also look at what you hope to achieve and whether it feels right to work together.

In the sessions that follow we work with what you bring. This can be anything: tension, questions, feelings or something you do not yet have words for.

We work through conversation and with attention to the body. For example by noticing what you feel in your body, through movement or by expressing emotions.

Over time it often becomes clearer what is going on inside you and how you can deal with it.

Core Energetics

Core Energetics is a form of body-oriented psychotherapy. The starting point is that body, feelings and thinking are connected.

Experiences in life often leave traces in the body, for example in tension or posture. By paying attention to this, it can become easier to connect with what is going on inside you.
